JOURNAL OF THE
IN-BETWEEN PLACES
A SELF PUBLISHED PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK
Photography has always been an important part of my creative process. When I began working in Midtown Manhattan I was overwhelmed by the frenetic energy from my daily street interactions. With chaos and beauty at every turn and in-between, it was just too inspiring not to be documented.
βTo commute in New York City is to move through inundation, collision, a constant bombardment of the senses. To commute properly one must transport himself from one place to another without getting involved because commuting is the opposite of noticing. Noticing leads to curiosity leads to involvement and involvement leads to life. And all these things get in the way of getting to the job on time. Or, for that matter getting anywhere on time.
What you have before you in this book of photographs however is noticing. The journey to the places in-between. In-between the subway and the office, the store and the corner. In-between jobs, light and dark. use and discard. The emotional in-between.β
